Located just a 1-hour drive from Lisbon, Woodland Getaway is the perfect seat of luxury from which to explore the local town of Santarém, Portugal’s capital of Gothic architecture.
Situated within the world-famous Ribatejo region, with the river Tejo winding through its rice fields and wetlands, a trip to the Woodland Getaway will truly make you feel like you’ve escaped the real world.
With hints of Sri Lanka, the exotic area lends itself to only the very best accommodation: the Woodland Getaway satisfies this requirement seamlessly. The mansion is only available to rent as a whole, accommodating 12 people and allowing for a spacious stay for all. Bamboo ceilings, traditional tiled floors, and open plan interiors make for a refreshing and calming atmosphere as soon as you enter the house. The bedroom suites are designed with your utmost comfort in mind, with large king beds made up in Egyptian cotton sheets and shrouded in sheer white curtains in a 4-poster style to create a feeling of mystery.
Large free-standing baths feature in many of the bedrooms, positioned in front of large sliding windows onto the Eden-like garden beyond.
All the bathrooms boast generous double sinks, large tiled power showers, and top of the range toiletries. The majesty of this palatial building is matched by its surroundings; the gardens and outdoor dining areas are truly breath-taking. Secret walkways meander between lily-pad ponds to numerous covered areas for those wanting a respite from the Portuguese sun. A stunning swimming pool with sunbeds for the whole party is perhaps the most attractive feature of the gardens, closely rivalled by a large outdoor dining area with seating around a striking outdoor firepit.
There is a spa located on-site, offering a wide range of services from hot stone massages to a Dutch hot tub.
